Peony Lin, a 19-year-old girl went ahead and had rhinoplasty. She wanted a longer and sharper nose. After the surgery, she developed a swollen nose and developed inflamed tissue reaction on several parts of her face. Peony, in her quest to get a beautiful nose, became a victim of botched plastic surgery.

Peony is not the only one who had botched plastic surgery. Many women go in for cosmetic surgery with the hope of looking more attractive and end up with disfigured faces. Yet, some women continue to seek unqualified surgeons in their quest to be more beautiful.

Dr. Sandy Andrews, a cosmetic plastic surgeon has done more than 100 corrective surgeries to rectify botched plastic surgery. “Sometimes, a corrective surgery might worsen their looks,” she says.

'I do not understand why women, and some men, still go to unqualified people despite the issue being highlighted by the media,\' she adds, stating the example of a 21-year-old girl. This young woman went to a beautician friend for cosmetic surgery to improve her nose, eyes and lips. It left her with a scarred and swollen face.

The beautician had injected her with silicon gel which turned a fairly good looking girl so ugly that for months, she didn’t step out of her room. After three corrective surgeries, the girl can at least look into the mirror.

Dr. Andrews says that people should approach qualified and registered plastic surgeons for cosmetic surgery and not just go to any local doctor or beautician.
